On the Way to Church

Due to the fast passed life styles most Americans have we often eat on the road. Thus such inventions as the truck stop and convenience store were created. On our way to church, about a thirty minute drive, my family often stops at either the Turkey Hill or Dunkin Donuts. Today was Turkey Hill, which is , for those of you who don't know, a chain of convenience stores located in Pennsylvania that has amazing ice cream and iced tea. I got an iced coffee, which was good at first. However, after a while it started to taste like chocolate milk and became to sweet to finish. Maybe the machine mix was off.
To go with the coffee, I bought these mini glazed donuts for 75 cents. They were very good and just enough to hold me over till after church lunch.

In A Cabin In the Woods!

Ok... this was much prettier when I first got it and it was filled to the top and had good homemade whipped cream on the top, but I couldn't wait to drink it until I had my camera. So, this is what you have to look at. Sorry, I have little to no self control when it comes to food and drink. We stopped at Wegman's on the way to the little cabin in the woods to get candy for the party and got drinks there as well. I got my usual, Strawberry Banana Smoothie with whipped cream on top. It is amazing. Creamy, fruity, frosty, heaven in a cup, pretty much sums it up. I think a medium costs somewhere around $2, so it's a good deal as compared to an Orange Julius.
Corn and a cupcake... ha ha. Here's what happened: I was going to get a piece of corn and someone was bringing out about 5 of these cupcakes and there are about 30 people at this party so I knew if I came back to get one after I was done my corn there would be none left so I grabbed the cupcake while I could. Lets start with the cup cake since that's what I ate first( of course!) It was basically banana bread or monkey bread as some know it, iced with vanilla butter cream icing and semi-sweet mini chocolate chips. It was sooooo good! Next the corn. It was just boiled as normal but I'm pretty sure it was home grown in the garden next to the cabin. I didn't top it with butter for fear of a mess so I just added some salt and pepper. I must say I always go for home grown over store bought because any veggie you would buy in a store is seriously lacking in the flavor department. So this corn was a really juicy treat.

Of course... when it comes to candy I gravitate towards my all time favorites... those include Twizzlers. :)
I also had an amazing chocolate cake and bread dip, however it was starting to rain so I didn't have my camera to take there pictures although I should be able to find them from someone else soon. i promise to add the as soon as I get them.

Breakfast and Lunch of July 25, 2009

I eat this a lot for breakfast when I wake up late and just need something to hold me over until lunch. It is Trix Watermelon Burst Yogurt and yes I know its for kids but it is so good, so don't judge me. It won't hold you over for more than two hours but it is a great snack to get you through till your next meal.

Ahh... Coke Zero. I'm not a big fan of caffeinated beverages but when i need an afternoon pick me up this is my choice. It has zero calories and zero carbs and zero grams of sugar but it tastes great. It might be proven to cause cancer one day in the future but I'll take my chances, goes great with a sandwich like the next one I have listed.

Yumm... the main course for lunch. This is a ham and cheese panini on white bread and a fun size pack of sweetish fish. I just get ham off the bone and white American cheese from the deli and plain old white bread. Put it together and butter the out sides and put it on my George Foreman Lean Mean Fat Grillin' Machine. Its so easy and tastes great. Of course you could jazz it up with a nice rye bread and Swiss cheese or you could eat it plain Jane like me. The sweetish fish were a treat because it is such a nice summer day. I buy the small packets of them and other fun favorites in the mix and match section of the candy shop at Wegman's.

I love fresh fruit and grapes are my favorite. They are so easy because you don't have to cut or peel them or anything. Just pop them in your mouth and enjoy. I also enjoy playing catch them in your mouth with my friends.

Best Dessert of All Time

This is zengo from La Tolteca on Mundy St. in Wilkes-Barre, Pa. It is cheese cake wrapped in a soft tortilla and fried in to crispy goodness. It is topped with vanilla ice cream, chocolate and Carmel sauce, whipped cream, and a cherry on top. I get this every time I go there. It is amazing and I would recommend it to anyone.
